Samsung recently released their new Samsung Galaxy Fold, a smartphone that folds in the middle. This ushers in a new era of mobile phones - foldable. Could this new generation of foldable technology revolutionise business working?
Samsung rebased the Galaxy Fold on February 20th 2019. The release was unprecedented, with their new design promising to "change the shape of tomorrow". The design features a single fold in the centre of the phone that allows the entire phone to fold out into a tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy fold has a full 7.3 Inch flexible OLED panel which acts like a tablet when the phone is unfolded. When the phone is folded, it offers a modest 4.6-inch HD+ screen.
Although currently unavailable to purchase, Samsung have said that the Galaxy Fold comes with a hefty price tag. At around £2000 it is one of the most costly smartphones on the market. But this may be a call price to pay for a phone that doubles as a tablet.

Samsung are not the only mobile phone manufacturer to be releasing a foldable smartphone. Huawei have released their 'Mate X'. The Mate X is similar in design to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, but offers a 'fold flat' screen.
